The Energy Strategy 2050, adopted by the Swiss in 2017, considers heat from deep geothermal sources as a fundamental pillar of energy supply. Therefore, the Federal Office of Topography Swisstopo has commissioned ETH to examine how deep geothermal energy can be integrated with lithium extraction.
